Blog Awards Ireland – Longlist Announced 4
This week The Blog Awards Ireland published its longlist of entries. For the second year, science and education have been put together into one award group. There are quite a lot of blogs on the longlist and it was interesting to see a number of blogs that I was unfamiliar with. It was also great to see some of Ireland’s best educational bloggers on the list too. Obviously, I’m thrilled to be on the list too!
You can see the full list on the Blog Awards Ireland web site, and it’s good to see a number of primary schools on the list. However, it was the first one that caught my eye as a good idea. Since May 2011, a school in Co. Clare seems to have been tracking a learning journey, where they are attempting to teach the children to learn to play violin. It’s nice to see an educational blog with such a niche and might prove useful to any schools who are planning on doing any big projects.
It’s also good to see that our colleagues in Northern Ireland have some blogs on the list. Often we forget about what goes on in the six counties and there is a lot that can be learned on this side of the border and vice versa. While it’s nothing to do with primary school, there are two blogs on the list which are run by secondary school students. Perhaps next year, we might see some primary school kids on the list for their blogging prowess.
