EdCanvas is now free to schools 4
It looks like the edtech companies are gearing up for the new term. EdCanvas is a web site that lets users stitch together web sites, videos, audio and images into one “canvas” so they’re in one place. The web site was introduced to me by Damien Quinn from the fantastic, Seomra Ranga web site, at a recent CESI Meet. Its use in education has great potential. For example, if I wanted my class to learn about “rocks” in geography, I could make an edCanvas and add some articles, videos and other items on to the canvas and get the children to go to it rather than giving them a long list of web sites.
EdCanvas is free for personal usage but this week members got news that schools are now entitled to completely free usage and access. This is great news and it might spark some opportunities for teachers to share schemes of lessons or a set of web sites relating to a theme.
