Excited about EXCITED

It’s that time of year again when teachers around the country will be coming to one of the most interesting learning festivals around. Created by the then minister, Ciaran Cannon, the Excited Festival, which happens from 21st to 23rd May is a series of presentations, discussions and exhibitions from educators and innovators in the education field and beyond. It’s a different format to CESI and ICTedu conferences but gives an interesting different angle on the education sphere with its mix of educators and non-educators.

Over the three days, there are a number of very impressive speakers, with big names such as Mona Akmal (VP of Code.org), Múirne Laffan (Managing Director of RTÉ’s digital division), Colm O’Regan (Comedian) and Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin (Lecturer and well-known advocate for science and technology.) Amongst the big names, there are a number of familiar faces from the teaching world including principals Kare Murray, Fiona Farry and me.
